Key facts about NHS 24. NHS 24 was founded as a Special Health Board on 6 April 2001. Regional contact centres followed, with Aberdeen the first to launch in May 2002, followed by Clydebank later that year and South Queensferry in 2003. In 2005, we began the rollout of local and remote contact centres, which now operate from nine sites: Inverness.
